![]() You need to adjust it as accurately as you can. Luckily, Denso plugs will come pre-gapped from the factory, so that you do not have to worry about it much. Other manufacturers do not offer to adjust, they give the manual of necessary gaps. The distance between its two electrodes, center and ground. This gap helps your automobiles to run smoothly. Gapping Tool: Every spark plug has its gap.The benefits of this electrode are: (1) The surface contacted by the air-fuel mixture is large, (2) There are many edge sections, and sparks occur easily, and (3) The flame core widens easily. Various measures have been taken with the shape to improve ignition performance. U-groove is a nickel-chrome material used for the ground electrode. U-groove ground electrode: Denso obtained patents for spark plug U-grooves from 1975 to 1992.These qualities are best used by no other than Denso. Iridium is a precious metal and has extraordinarily superior properties for a spark plug electrode, for example, high-temperature withstand, high strength, and low resistance. Best center electrode: Denso used an iridium alloy tip with a diameter of 0.4 mm is laser welded to the tip of the center electrode to make the center electrode. This reduces the quenching effect, so it improves ignition performance. Tapered cut ground electrode: The ground electrode has a shape in which the electrode tip is cut to a finely tapered shape. The sealing for both is good and the thermal ratio of expansion is appropriate, so even under harsh conditions gaps do not occur and good airtightness can be secured. Glass Seal: A special mixture of glass powder and copper powder is charged in the installation section for the insulator and center shaft and center electrode.Finest Insulator: Denso has a well-prepared insulator that centers the shaft and centers the electrode from the housing, preventing the escape of high voltage from the electrodes. This means that you’ll never have to worry about changing out your old plugs again. It also features an ultra low profile design which allows you to use them in tight engine compartments or under certain hoods where clearance would otherwise be an issue. The plugs also have a triple ground electrode, which provides the best performance possible for your vehicle.ĭenso Iridium Spark Plugs are made from high-quality materials including ceramic insulator material which offers excellent corrosion resistance as well as superior anti-seizing properties. ![]() It’s made of iridium, which means it has a long lifespan and can withstand tough conditions. If you want to get your engine running at optimum efficiency then this is the spark plug for you.ĭenso Iridium Spark Plug is a very popular and high-quality spark plug. They have been around for more than 20 years and are still going strong! In fact, these plugs are so good that they’re used in Formula One race cars as well as the Indy 500 race car champion. With a specially-designed electrode that generates a more powerful and consistent spark, these plugs can provide better fuel efficiency, make engines run smoother, and last longer. Fine wire benefits have been easily noticeable. The Denso iridium spark plug is a revolutionary new spark plug that has been designed to be the perfect replacement for your vehicle’s OEM plugs. Copper is superior, but fouling has been an issue for me in places with incredibly poor quality fuels. ![]() They will last longer than copper, but I don't really care. I buy them because the fine wire resists fouling over time. It's way worse than copper or silver, but it's good enough. Iridium splits the difference to a point where it's irrelevant unless you're using some manner of insane engine that's very difficult to ignite at the proper rate. It lasts longer, but with iridium on the table it's pointless. The differences in properties between that and other metals used for plugs is dramatic. That's essentially pointless until you get into the metals that aren't actually all that great for conductivity (platinum). If a few minutes cures that, it's worth the trouble. As you noted, they're not as bad as copper plugs for gap inconsistency, but they still won't match as well as they should. They still need gapping to match up properly and land at whatever specification is required. Every plug I run is fine-wire iridium and they're fairly expensive.
